The United States submitted a proposal to protect all chambered nautiluses under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). The 17th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP17) to CITES was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, September 24 – October 5, 2016. At this meeting, the decision was made to protect these amazing creatures!

Please share our site with your friends & family! It’s amazing what change can happen by just talking about something. Most people aren’t aware of the nautilus species or the problems it is facing. Tell your friends and family that the nautilus is endangered!
Write Letters
Write letters to nautilus sellers and tell them to STOP selling nautilus shells. We’ve put together a sample letter that you can download and use as well as a listing of some sellers.

We are a 501-C3 NON-PROFIT- which means your donations are tax deductible. All funds we raise go to Dr. Ward’s and Dr. Barord’s research which relies on volunteer efforts to cover costs.
